Commission
CONCEPT TO COMPLETION
Anton Gerner designs and hand crafts his new heirlooms to your specific requirements, giving you a piece of furniture to love from the very beginning.
Start by contacting Anton to arrange an initial consultation and a rough cost estimate.
The team will then proceed to concept sketches and even models so you can visualise your bespoke piece, and you can workshop timbers, finishes and manufacturing specifics. Anton and his team will take the process to this stage for the love of it, however if you don’t go any further all drawings and designs remain the property of Anton Gerner Furniture.
Once you’ve agreed on a design, Anton will provide a formal quote with the design details, the total cost and a fixed timeframe for completion. A 40% deposit is required to confirm the order.
Depending on the size and complexity of the commission, this can take around 12–14 weeks to complete.
COLLABORATION
No two designs are the same, and no two collaborations are the same.
Anton will work closely with you to understand your requirements, and he’ll share his extensive knowledge and design aesthetic. You may choose to leave the entire process to Anton, get deeply involved at every stage – or somewhere in between.
The success of your final piece of furniture will come down to clear communication and how well you understand each other. It’s a unique process that leads to unexpected results and can be a wonderful experience.
COSTS
Prices for Anton Gerner furniture vary widely, depending on the materials you select, the detail of your design and the complexity of construction. Anton will work closely with you to ensure you’re kept up to date with costs as a project progresses.
Remember that individually designed, handmade heirlooms are considerably more expensive than mass-produced furniture. Expert design, extensive experience, detailed craftsmanship and quality materials are worth it, and the result is a one-off piece that’s priceless – and will appreciate over time.
